Where it came from
Scarlett, released as number 74 in the Funko Pop! Retro Toys line, serves as an homage to the iconic G.I. Joe franchise that first gained massive cultural traction in the 1980s. The figure depicts Shana 'Scarlett' O'Hara, the original female member of the G.I. Joe team, rendered in the distinctive stylized aesthetic Funko employs for its licensed properties. This release was produced to appeal to adult collectors nostalgic for the Hasbro action figures and the long-running animated series that defined much of the decade's action-adventure toy market.
The design of the figure leans into the classic 1980s appearance of the character, emphasizing her signature red hair and tactical bodysuit. By situating her within the Retro Toys line, Funko aimed to translate the sharp, military-inspired silhouette of the original 3.75-inch action figures into a modern vinyl collectible format. The reception was largely positive among long-time fans of the G.I. Joe series, who viewed the figure as a faithful representation of a cornerstone character in the franchise's history.
