Where it came from
Shimo, the ancient titan from the 2024 film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, was brought to life as a Funko Pop! figure in early 2024. As part of the Pop! Movies series, numbered 1542, the figure captures the character's distinct crystalline appearance and imposing stature, reflecting the design work of Legendary Pictures' monster design team. It was released to coincide with the film's theatrical debut, offering fans a tangible representation of the franchise's newest kaiju antagonist turned ally.
The design emphasizes the creature's glacial aesthetics and unique physiological traits, such as its specialized dorsal plates and armored hide. Like other releases in the Godzilla x Kong line, the figure was stylized according to Funko's signature aesthetic, which balances recognizable character detail with a simplified, chibi-inspired silhouette. It was met with positive reception from the broader Godzilla collector community, who valued it as a canonical addition to the expanding MonsterVerse toy ecosystem.
