Where it came from
Soldier Supreme, numbered 679 in the Funko Pop! Marvel line, was released as part of the Infinity Warps series. This collection draws inspiration from the 2018 comic book crossover event of the same name, which featured 'Amalgam' characters created by blending two iconic Marvel heroes into one. Soldier Supreme specifically represents the fusion of Captain America and Doctor Strange, conceptualized by writers Gerry Duggan and Adam Kubert to explore a magical, patriotic synthesis of the two characters.
The figure design mirrors the aesthetic established in the Infinity Warps comics, sporting the classic star-spangled Captain America color palette integrated with the flowing cape and ornate accessories of the Sorcerer Supreme. The 'Glow in the Dark' (GITD) variant emphasizes the mystical elements of the character's costume, such as the Eye of Agamotto and the star emblem. It was received as a niche entry for dedicated Marvel collectors, highlighting Funko's strategy of deep-diving into alternate comic universes beyond the standard cinematic depictions.
