Where it came from
The Sorrento Funko Pop, numbered 501 in the Pop! Movies series, was produced to commemorate the 2018 film adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel, Ready Player One. The figure represents Nolan Sorrento, the primary antagonist and executive of Innovative Online Industries, capturing his corporate appearance from the film's scenes set within the real world rather than the OASIS simulation.
Funko’s design team sought to distill the character's cold, bureaucratic persona into their signature stylized aesthetic, featuring his sharp suit and headset accessory. As part of a broader wave of merchandise launched alongside the film's theatrical release, the figure was intended for both fans of the book and those familiar with Steven Spielberg's cinematic vision, maintaining the consistent build and scale characteristic of the Pop! brand.
