Provenance

Where it came from

The Sox Pop! figure, numbered 1213 in the Disney series, was released to coincide with the 2022 theatrical debut of Pixar's Lightyear. The character, a robotic companion cat, served as the emotional anchor for Buzz Lightyear in the film, providing both comic relief and a grounded sense of loyalty. This specific flocked variant was produced to simulate the texture of the character's synthetic fur, distinguishing it from the standard vinyl release.

The design of the figure adheres to the iconic Funko aesthetic, featuring the oversized head and minimalist features characteristic of the Pop! line. The flocking process, which involves applying fine synthetic fibers to the surface of the vinyl, was intended to evoke the tactile, plush appearance of the on-screen character. Upon release, the figure was well-received by collectors who favored the added textural detail of the flocked finish as a premium alternative to the glossy standard version.
