Space Ghost With Shark

The Space Ghost With Shark Pop! figure belongs to the Animation series, released by Funko to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Hanna-Barbera superhero. Space Ghost originally debuted in 1966 as a traditional space-faring hero, though the character saw a significant cultural resurgence in the 1990s through the surreal talk show format of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. This figure captures the character in his classic superhero aesthetic, paired with a shark, a nod to the often whimsical and bizarre nature of the franchise's expanded visual history.

Funko’s design approach for this release leans into the iconic bold lines and vibrant color palette associated with the character’s original 1960s animation style. By incorporating the shark, the designers highlight the playful, self-referential tone that has defined the character for modern audiences. As part of the broader Pop! Animation line, the figure serves as a nostalgic tribute to the intersection of mid-century Saturday morning cartoons and the cult-classic experimental animation that followed.
