Spider-Woman Mattie Franklin

The Mattie Franklin Spider-Woman Funko Pop, number 1020 in the Marvel series, was released as part of the wider expansion of Funko's Marvel line, which frequently highlights lesser-known legacy characters and iterations of classic heroes. Mattie Franklin, who first appeared in the late 1990s as a successor to the Spider-Woman mantle, represents a distinct era of Marvel comics where the mantle was briefly held by new, younger protagonists. The figure captures her iconic red and yellow costume, reflecting the character's unique visual identity within the extended Spider-Man family.

Funko’s design team maintains a consistent aesthetic for the Pop! line, characterized by the signature oversized head and simplified, stylized features that bridge the gap between classic comic book art and modern vinyl collectability. This figure was received by collectors as a welcome addition to the 'Spider-Verse' sub-theme, which seeks to catalogue the many variations of Spider-Man and related characters. Like other releases in this series, it serves as a tactile tribute to Marvel's expansive editorial history, aimed primarily at long-time fans who appreciate the depth of the company's character archive.
