Where it came from
The Staircase Paint Can Scene Pop! Deluxe Moment was released as part of the initial wave of the Funko Pop! Deluxe Moment line, which expanded the standard figure format to recreate iconic cinematic sequences in a diorama-style setting. This specific piece commemorates the climactic trap sequence from the 1990 holiday film Home Alone, where the young protagonist Kevin McCallister defends his home against the burglars Harry and Marv.
The design emphasizes the architectural humor of the film, featuring a miniaturized version of the McCallister staircase with the signature swinging paint cans. The figures of Kevin, Harry, and Marv are stylized in the classic Funko Pop! aesthetic, aiming to capture the slapstick essence of the scene. Upon its release, the item was well-received by fans of 90s cinema as a nostalgic centerpiece that effectively translates a live-action stunt into the company's trademark vinyl format.
