Where it came from
The Stormtrooper Conan figure was released as part of a special line of Funko Pop! collectibles created to celebrate Conan O'Brien's week of shows in San Diego during the 2015 Comic-Con International. These figures were produced to commemorate the comedian's hosting tenure and his long-standing tradition of appearing in elaborate costumes during his late-night broadcasts. The design fuses the iconic silhouette of a Star Wars stormtrooper with the distinct, oversized head and pompadour hairstyle characteristic of the Conan O'Brien caricatures.
Designed by the Funko creative team, the figure was intended as a limited-edition promotional item for attendees of the taping. It follows the standard aesthetic of the Pop! vinyl line, utilizing a stylized, chibi-inspired anatomy that prioritizes recognizable features over realistic proportion. Upon its release, it became a sought-after piece for crossover collectors, effectively blending pop-culture iconography with the specific fandom surrounding the late-night host's annual convention appearances.
