Where it came from
Sugar Bear, the relaxed and groovy mascot for Golden Crisp cereal, made his debut in the mid-1960s to replace the rougher-edged Sugar Bear character. Created by the ad agency Post-Keyes-Gardner, the character was designed with a laid-back, cool demeanor, often depicted sauntering through commercials while humming a catchy jingle that emphasized his love for the honey-coated puffed wheat cereal.
This Funko Pop! figure, numbered 22 in the Ad Icons series, translates the mascot's classic mid-century animation aesthetic into a stylized vinyl form. The design stays faithful to his recognizable blue fur and friendly expression, serving as a nostalgic tribute to the golden era of cereal box advertising which sought to pair breakfast products with memorable, charismatic cartoon icons.
