Sunset Shimmer

Sunset Shimmer was released as part of the Funko Pop! Digital collection, a series that bridges traditional vinyl figure collecting with the world of non-fungible tokens. This specific figure, numbered 67 within the My Little Pony digital series, was modeled after the popular character from the Equestria Girls spin-off, who originally debuted as an antagonist before evolving into a central protagonist. The design translates the character’s distinct fiery mane and punk-inspired aesthetic into the standardized, oversized-head Funko format.

The figure’s production reflects the broader trend of digital-first collectibles, where obtaining a physical figurine often required collectors to secure a rare NFT asset from the series drop. This model has been noted by fans for maintaining the sharp color contrast of the character’s design, staying faithful to the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic art style while adhering to the geometric constraints of the Funko Pop! aesthetic.
