Where it came from
Super Saiyan Trunks, numbered 2198 in the Funko Pop! Animation line, draws inspiration from the iconic Dragon Ball Z series. The figure depicts Trunks in his transformed state, a visual milestone that debuted during the Android and Cell Sagas. As with the broader Funko aesthetic, the design distills the character's complex anime anatomy—specifically his signature lavender hair and the refined detailing of his Capsule Corp attire—into the standardized, oversized-head silhouette that has defined the brand's global appeal.
This specific iteration reflects the ongoing expansion of the Dragon Ball Z catalog, which Funko has maintained for years to meet the persistent demand from the anime community. The design process focuses on capturing the character's recognizable energy and tactical gear while adhering to the uniform constraints of the Pop! form factor. Since the release of the initial Dragon Ball Z figures, these collectibles have been received as accessible entry points for fans wishing to display their affinity for the series, serving as stylized tributes to the source material's enduring cultural impact.
