Where it came from
The Superman figure from the Pop! Animation line, numbered 842, emerged from the imaginative 'DC Looney Tunes' crossover series released by Funko. This collection was designed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Bugs Bunny by blending the iconic aesthetic of classic Looney Tunes characters with the legendary personas of the DC Universe. The figure depicts Bugs Bunny dressed in the classic Superman costume, reflecting a humorous intersection of Warner Bros. intellectual properties.
The design team at Funko focused on capturing the signature silhouette of a Pop! vinyl figure while incorporating the playful personality of Bugs Bunny. By placing the mischievous cartoon rabbit in the stoic garb of the Man of Steel, the creators aimed to highlight the long-standing corporate connection between the two franchises. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by collectors who appreciate the novelty of hybrid characters and the whimsical tribute to animation history.
