Where it came from
The T-Rex with Banner Pop! Digital figure was released as part of a specialized series celebrating the 30th anniversary of the 1993 film Jurassic Park. This particular iteration draws inspiration from the iconic climax of the original movie, where the Tyrannosaurus Rex makes a triumphant appearance in the visitor center rotunda beneath a 'When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth' banner. It serves as a commemorative piece for collectors, bridging the legacy of the film franchise with the modern Funko digital-to-physical redemption ecosystem.
The design aesthetic for the Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary line focuses on capturing cinematic nostalgia through the distinct Funko stylized lens, emphasizing the oversized proportions and simplified features characteristic of the brand. This specific figure was conceptualized to replicate the tension and awe of the film's final act, prioritizing recognizable iconography from the source material. Within the collecting community, the piece is recognized for its thematic tie to a pivotal moment in science fiction history, reflecting the enduring cultural impact of the original Jurassic Park production.
