Where it came from
The Tall Man Pop! figure is a stylized vinyl collectible inspired by the central antagonist of the 1979 cult horror film Phantasm. Created by Don Coscarelli, the character was famously portrayed by Angus Scrimm as an imposing, supernatural mortician who terrorizes the local community. The figure is part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, which serves to memorialize iconic cinematic villains, translating the Tall Man’s signature long black coat and menacing expression into the brand's signature oversized-head aesthetic.
Designed to appeal to horror enthusiasts and fans of the Phantasm franchise, this figure captures the essence of the character’s unsettling presence. As part of a series that highlights significant figures in horror cinema, the design team focused on maintaining his distinct silhouette while adhering to the recognizable Pop! form factor. The item serves as a tribute to the lasting impact of the film’s practical effects and the legacy of Scrimm’s performance within the independent horror genre.
