Where it came from
Released in 2021, this figure commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1991 Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast. It belongs to a series of Funko Pop! collectibles designed to celebrate the milestone, reimagining the iconic protagonist in his formal ballroom attire to capture the film's most memorable sequence. The design focuses on the signature blue coat and yellow cravat, reflecting the studio's shift toward high-detail digital assets for its commemorative merchandising lines.
The character design follows the standard Pop! aesthetic, characterized by oversized, non-expressive eyes and a simplified, geometric take on the Beast’s hulking silhouette. As part of the wider Disney anniversary initiative, the figure was intended to bridge the gap between long-time fans of the original animation and a new generation of collectors. Upon release, it was received as a standard entry in the extensive Funko Disney catalog, appreciated primarily for its nostalgic connection to the film's anniversary.
