Where it came from
The Demon Pop! figure, numbered 121 in the Pop! Rocks series, was released to honor Gene Simmons of the legendary rock band KISS. Produced by Funko, the figure features the iconic makeup, stage costume, and platform boots that defined Simmons's persona during the band's peak in the 1970s. This specific iteration incorporates a glow-in-the-dark finish, a popular variation designed to appeal to collectors who enjoy the contrast between the stylized vinyl aesthetic and nocturnal visual effects.
The design process for this figure focused on distilling the complex, theatrical nature of KISS's stage presence into the signature Funko silhouette. The designers prioritized the symmetry of the black and white face paint and the characteristic spiked armor of The Demon. Upon release, the figure was met with enthusiasm from both long-time KISS fans, known as the KISS Army, and the broader vinyl toy collecting community, marking a significant entry in the ongoing collaboration between Funko and classic rock icons.
