Where it came from
The Hunter Pop! figure was released as part of the Pop! Games series, specifically celebrating the 2015 action role-playing game Bloodborne. Developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, the game became a critical success noted for its atmospheric, gothic aesthetic and challenging gameplay. Funko designed this figure to capture the iconic silhouette of the game's protagonist, complete with the signature tricorn hat, weathered trench coat, and the serrated Saw Cleaver.
The design draws heavily from the Victorian-inspired, Lovecraftian visual language established by Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team at FromSoftware. By translating the gritty, dark textures of the in-game character into the stylized, simplified vinyl form characteristic of Funko, the piece sought to provide fans with a tangible memento of the game's distinct artistic direction. It was met with positive reception from the gaming community, serving as a popular entry in the broader lineup of PlayStation-themed collectibles.
