The Nun with Painting

The Nun, or Valak, was introduced into the Pop! Digital series as a limited-edition collectible, released as part of the broader expansion of Funko's digital-to-physical trading card program. These collectibles are tied to unique non-fungible tokens, allowing owners to redeem the digital asset for a physical vinyl figure, bridging the gap between digital scarcity and traditional shelf display. This specific release draws directly from the chilling imagery of The Conjuring 2, capturing the terrifying presence of the antagonist as she appears in the film's iconic painting.

The design of this piece emphasizes the gothic horror aesthetic characteristic of The Conjuring franchise, focusing on the stark contrast between the figure’s pale, habit-clad silhouette and the dark, textured backdrop of the painting she emerges from. Funko’s design team aimed to replicate the unsettling depth of the movie prop, prioritizing the eerie, watchful expression of the character. Upon release, the figure was well-received by horror enthusiasts and franchise completionists who valued its status as a specialized, limited-run piece within the expanding Pop! ecosystem.
