Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Albums series, this collectible commemorates Iron Maiden's iconic 1983 single, The Trooper. The item was designed to honor the legacy of the band's mascot, Eddie, who is depicted in his signature Napoleonic-era British military uniform as seen on the original single's cover art, brandishing a bloodied union flag and a saber amidst the chaos of the Charge of the Light Brigade.
The figure draws its aesthetic directly from the Derek Riggs illustration that defined the heavy metal imagery of the early 1980s. Funko stylized the character to fit their standard proportions while retaining the specific, gritty details of the original artwork, such as the tattered red coat and the haunting, skeletal expression of Eddie. It has been well-received by fans of the band as a faithful representation of one of the most recognizable pieces of album art in metal history.
