Thor

The Thor figure, number 834 in the Pop! Marvel series, was released as part of the Avengers: Mech Strike collection. This line was developed to tie into the 2021 Marvel comic book series of the same name, which reimagines the Avengers donning high-tech, armored exosuits to combat a new breed of biomechanical villains. Funko designed these figures to capture the distinct aesthetic of the Mech Strike suits, characterized by bulky, metallic plating and intricate mechanical details that diverge significantly from the characters' traditional costume designs.

The design process for this series focused on translating the complex, blocky armor panels of the source material into the stylized, large-headed vinyl format that defines the Pop! brand. By incorporating metallic paints and angular sculpting, the designers aimed to emphasize the industrial and heavy-duty nature of the Mech Strike gear. Upon its release, the figure was primarily marketed toward comic enthusiasts and completionist collectors, receiving recognition for its departure from standard character iterations and its commitment to the specific visual themes of the Mech Strike storyline.
