Where it came from
The Tyrant Pop! figure, numbered 159 in the Games series, was released by Funko to coincide with the enduring popularity of the Resident Evil franchise. The figure depicts the T-002 Tyrant, the iconic final boss from the original 1996 survival horror game. It was designed to capture the creature's imposing, hulking physique and its signature exposed heart, rendered in the characteristic stylized aesthetic that defines the Pop! line.
This collectible arrived during a period of revitalized interest in the Resident Evil series, as Capcom pushed to modernize its classic titles. By choosing a primary antagonist for the figure, Funko leaned into the nostalgia of long-term fans. The design was received as a faithful, albeit simplified, interpretation of the source material, becoming a sought-after piece for horror gaming enthusiasts looking to represent the origins of the series on their shelves.
