Where it came from
The Vegeta (Black) figure, numbered 157 in the Pop! Animation series, was released by Funko to commemorate the Dragon Ball Z film 'Resurrection 'F'.' This specific iteration depicts the Prince of Saiyans in his iconic battle armor, reflecting the character's appearance as he prepares for his rematch against Frieza. The design adheres to the standard Pop! aesthetic, characterized by a large, stylized head and simplified features, intended to make the complex character design accessible to both casual fans and dedicated collectors of the franchise.
Funko’s Dragon Ball Z line has become a significant staple in the vinyl figure market, capturing the evolution of Akira Toriyama's legendary series. The design team focused on maintaining the recognizable color palette of Vegeta’s armor while transitioning the intricate lines of the anime into the company's trademark minimalist format. Upon release, the figure was well-received by the collecting community for its faithful representation of a pivotal cinematic arc, serving as a popular entry point for those aiming to complete their primary Saiyan roster.
