Venom (Leaping)

The Venom (Leaping) figure, numbered 373 in the Pop! Marvel line, was released by Funko as part of a significant expansion of the Venom franchise within their vinyl figure catalog. This iteration was designed to capture the character in a dynamic, mid-air pose that emphasizes his fluid, predatory nature, moving beyond the static stance common to earlier Pop releases. The design team focused on incorporating signature elements, such as the character’s elongated, erratic tongue and the stark contrast of the black and white symbiote suit, to ensure instant recognizability among comic book fans.

Upon its release, the figure was met with positive reception from collectors who appreciated the more expressive mold compared to the traditional, upright Venom designs. It emerged during a period of high interest in the Venom brand, coinciding with a renewed focus on Marvel's anti-heroes in mainstream media. By distilling the character's monstrous aesthetic into the simplified, oversized-head silhouette characteristic of the Pop! brand, Funko successfully bridged the gap between serious comic book memorabilia and casual desk collectibles.
