Where it came from
Released in 2023 to coincide with the global theatrical debut of Greta Gerwig's Barbie, this Pop! figure captures Ryan Gosling's portrayal of Ken in his iconic Western-inspired outfit. The figure is part of the extensive Funko Pop! Movies line, which seeks to immortalize major cinematic moments and character aesthetics in the signature stylized vinyl format, characterized by oversized heads and simplified, expressive features.
The design of the figure faithfully replicates the neon-accented western shirt, white cowboy hat, and matching neckerchief worn by Ken during the film's scenes in the 'Real World.' Funko designers focused on translating the high-contrast aesthetic of the costume into their standard 3.75-inch form factor, aiming to capture the campy, deliberate artifice that defined the movie’s production design. It was received by fans as a quintessential collectible for those wishing to commemorate the cultural phenomenon of the film.
