Where it came from
The Funko Pop! Rocks figure depicting the members of Devo was released to commemorate the band's influential role in New Wave music. The figure specifically captures the iconic look from their 1980 hit 'Whip It,' featuring the band's signature red energy dome hats and matching jumpsuits. This aesthetic was central to the band's de-evolution concept, blending satire and futuristic performance art.
The figure design simplifies the band's deliberately uniform, dehumanized stage persona into the standard Funko aesthetic. It was released as part of the broader Rocks series, which honors musicians who have left a distinct cultural footprint. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the band's quirky, avant-garde image and remains a notable entry in the collection for those documenting 1980s music history.
