White Rabbit Mystery Mini Prototype

The White Rabbit Mystery Mini prototype originated during the production phase of Funko’s Alice in Wonderland series, released to expand their popular Mystery Mini line. As a prototype, this figure served as an essential pre-production sample used by designers to evaluate paint applications, material durability, and structural integrity before the final manufacturing run began. These test pieces are often identifiable by unpainted surfaces, color variations, or the absence of standard factory markings, representing the crucial bridge between digital design and mass-market distribution.

The design of this specific figure draws inspiration from the iconic 1951 animated depiction of the character, emphasizing the signature waistcoat, oversized ears, and frantic expression characteristic of Lewis Carroll’s creation. The Funko design team aimed to balance the aesthetic constraints of the compact Mystery Mini form factor—typically standing around 2.5 inches tall—with the expressive personality of the original illustration. Upon release, the series was well-received by collectors for its successful distillation of the film’s whimsical art style into a portable, stylized format.
