Where it came from
Wicket W. Warrick, the courageous Ewok scout, was immortalized as Funko Pop number 608 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Released as part of the broader Star Wars celebration line, this figure captures the character's iconic appearance from the 1983 film, featuring his distinct fur texture and hooded cowl, which served as a focal point for the franchise's shift toward more accessible, character-focused merchandise.
The design follows the classic Pop aesthetic, emphasizing large, stylized eyes and a simplified, oversized head intended to create a sense of charm and collectibility. While the figure is a modern addition to the vast Star Wars Funko catalog, it reflects the enduring legacy of the Ewok design, which was originally conceived by George Lucas and legendary creature designer Stuart Freeborn to bridge the gap between the film's gritty rebellion themes and a broader, family-friendly appeal.
