Where it came from
Will the Wise, designated as figure 805 in the Funko Pop! Television line, was released to celebrate the second season of the Netflix series Stranger Things. The character design captures Will Byers as he appears in his Dungeons & Dragons wizard costume, reflecting his role as the group's Dungeon Master during the show's 1984 setting. This specific variant features a glow-in-the-dark finish on the staff and decorative elements, nodding to the supernatural themes prevalent throughout the series.
The figure was produced during the height of the show's initial cultural phenomenon, when Funko was rapidly expanding its catalog of licenses. The aesthetic follows the brand's signature stylized vinyl form, emphasizing the character's bowl cut and distinct yellow robes. It was received as a staple piece for fans of the franchise, serving as a nostalgic representation of the core group of protagonists and the period-accurate details that define the series' visual identity.
