Wish Bear [Flocked]

Wish Bear was introduced as part of the Care Bears 40th Anniversary collection, a commemorative line celebrating the franchise that originated in 1981 as greeting card illustrations by Elena Kucharik. The character is known for its teal fur and a belly badge depicting a shooting star, representing the manifestation of dreams and hope. This specific Pop! figure, number 1207, features a flocked texture designed to mimic the tactile softness of the original plush toys that gained massive popularity throughout the 1980s.

The figure was produced by Funko as part of their Pop! Animation series to bridge the gap between retro nostalgia and modern vinyl collecting. By applying a flocked finish to the mold, the designers aimed to evoke the charm of the original Kenner stuffed animals while adhering to the stylized aesthetic of the Pop! brand. Upon its release, it was received favorably by long-time collectors who appreciated the nod to the franchise's heritage and the textured detail added to the iconic character design.
