Wybie Lovat

Wybie Lovat was released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line in 2024 to coincide with the broader re-release and renewed cultural interest in the stop-motion animated film Coraline. The figure captures his distinct appearance from the movie, featuring his signature protective gear and the somewhat wary expression he maintains throughout his interactions with Coraline Jones. As a key secondary character, his design leans into the gothic aesthetic popularized by Laika Studios, emphasizing the spindly, stylized proportions characteristic of the Pop! vinyl aesthetic.

The design of this figure was produced under the standard Funko license for the Coraline franchise, aimed at collectors who appreciate the dark fantasy atmosphere of the film. Like many figures in the Movies line, the sculpting process sought to translate the physical textures of the character’s clothing—specifically his heavy coat and goggles—into the simplified, oversized-head silhouette that defines the brand. Upon its arrival, the figure was received as a long-awaited addition to the Coraline set, which previously had limited representation of the film's supporting cast.
