Where it came from
Zenitsu Agatsuma number 1398 is part of the extensive Funko Pop Animation line, which translates popular anime characters into Funko’s signature stylized aesthetic. The character originates from the globally successful series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, created by Koyoharu Gotouge. This specific figure was produced to expand the Demon Slayer collection, capturing Zenitsu in his iconic yellow haori with his signature anxious expression, reflecting his role as a cowardly yet powerful slayer who channels thunder-breathing techniques.
The design process for this figure focuses on balancing Funko’s minimalist, oversized-head aesthetic with the vibrant, distinct character design of the anime. Funko designers prioritized translating Zenitsu’s characteristic messy blonde hair and uniform details into a simplified form. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the series and collectors of animation-themed vinyl figures, serving as a staple addition for those curating a complete set of the Demon Slayer cast.
