Where it came from
The 12 Pack Marker Set, identified by set number 5005963-1, was released as part of a series of promotional stationery and creative accessories produced by The LEGO Group. These sets were developed to diversify the brand's offerings beyond traditional construction bricks, aiming to provide enthusiasts with branded tools that integrate the iconic aesthetic of the building system into everyday creative endeavors like drawing and sketching.
The design of these markers focuses on accessibility and thematic cohesion with the wider LEGO product ecosystem. Each marker features a barrel design that mimics the classic brick dimensions, allowing them to be snapped together or attached to other modular components. This utility-driven design was intended to encourage interactive play even while engaging in traditional art, and it has been received primarily as a functional novelty item for hobbyists and younger builders.
