Where it came from
The Adventure Camp Tree House (set 42631-1) was released by LEGO in 2024 as part of the Friends theme. This line, which underwent a significant relaunch in 2023, focuses on a diverse cast of characters and inclusive storytelling set within the fictional Heartlake City. The tree house design emphasizes modular play, incorporating interactive elements like a zip line, an obstacle course, and functional pulleys to reflect the active, nature-oriented focus of the new Friends narrative.
The set was designed to capture the aesthetic of an outdoor adventure retreat, prioritizing ecological themes such as birdwatching and insect study. By utilizing a vibrant color palette and intricate structural details, the LEGO design team aimed to provide an immersive building experience that balances technical challenge with imaginative roleplay. Upon its release, it was well received by the community for its architectural complexity and the variety of play features integrated into its footprint.
