Where it came from
Released in 2008 as part of the Lego Star Wars theme, this set recreates the Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor piloted by Anakin Skywalker during the events of the Clone Wars. The model emerged alongside the initial launch of the animated series, capturing the specific aesthetic transition of the character's vehicle as depicted in early-series media. Its design focused on an efficient, compact build that prioritized the iconic yellow and grey color scheme and the inclusion of a specialized R2-D2 astromech droid dome.
The set was designed by the Lego Star Wars team to provide an accessible play experience while maintaining the sharp, angular silhouette of the Jedi craft. It featured retractable landing gear and a cockpit canopy that opened to accommodate a minifigure. Upon its release, it was well-regarded by collectors for its accurate representation of the source material's streamlined design and its role as a representative piece for the burgeoning Clone Wars sub-theme of the late 2000s.
