Where it came from
The Animal Atlas parts were released as part of a promotional campaign associated with the LEGO Animal Atlas set, which was designed to engage younger audiences with geography and biology. The collection utilizes the classic LEGO system of bricks to build various animal models, emphasizing the brand's pivot toward educational, non-licensed sets that prioritize interactive learning and environmental awareness.
The design of these components focuses on simplified, recognizable silhouettes that allow children to assemble diverse species from across the globe. By stripping away complex mechanical elements in favor of color-coded blocks and specific molded pieces, the designers aimed to foster spatial reasoning and encourage creative play, a direction that was generally well-received by parents and educators for its blend of entertainment and instructional value.
