Where it came from
Released as part of the LEGO Classic sub-theme in 2020, this set was designed as a versatile entry point for creative building rather than a traditional narrative-based model. It serves as a pedagogical tool meant to encourage open-ended play, reflecting the LEGO Group's ongoing focus on providing core building blocks in a varied color palette to support imagination.
The set consists of 1,500 pieces, encompassing a broad range of hues and specialized elements like eyes and wheels. The design philosophy behind this collection emphasizes functional diversity, allowing builders to construct a wide array of creatures, from recognizable animals to abstract forms. It was received favorably by the community as a value-driven supplemental pack for expanding existing collections.
