Where it came from
Aspheera, released as part of the LEGO Ninjago 'Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu' line in 2019, represents the primary antagonist of the eleventh season. The character is a Serpentine sorceress who utilizes the power of forbidden Spinjitzu, a central plot device that shifted the narrative focus of the long-running animated series toward ancient, dangerous elemental arts. Her design features a distinct translucent element for her headpiece and unique printed patterns that reflect her identity as the leader of the Pyro Vipers.
The figure was conceptualized by the LEGO design team to embody a menacing, ancient aesthetic, contrasting with the more modern, tech-focused enemies found in earlier Ninjago waves. The character design was crafted to align with the show's animation, capturing her sinister, vengeful personality through specific color palettes of black, dark red, and gold. Within the collector community, the figure is noted for its high level of detail and for marking a return to snake-themed adversaries, which are a hallmark of the Ninjago legacy.
