Where it came from
The Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores, released in 2023, serves as a centerpiece for the Ninjago: Dragons Rising series. Designed to represent the nexus of the spirit energy central to the show's new narrative arc, the set introduces a complex, multi-tiered structure that allows for interactive play through hidden traps and rotating elements.
The architectural style leans into a vibrant, fantasy-inspired aesthetic that blends traditional Eastern temple motifs with futuristic, high-fantasy elements. It was developed by the LEGO design team to act as a primary location for the new generation of characters, focusing on a balance between verticality and display-ready detail, and was generally well-received by the community for its intricate use of translucent pieces.
