Where it came from
The ATV Race Team set, released in 2017 as part of the Lego City Great Vehicles subtheme, was designed to provide a compact, play-oriented experience centered around motorsports. The set features a pickup truck, a trailer, and two ATVs, capturing the aesthetic of off-road racing support crews commonly seen in professional rally circuits. It was produced during a period when the Lego City line focused heavily on specialized, modular vehicle sets intended to encourage imaginative role-play among younger builders.
The design emphasizes durability and ease of assembly, utilizing a classic color palette of red and white with racing-themed decals to signify a professional team. While the set received little critical analysis beyond standard consumer reviews, it was well-received by the target demographic for its value-to-part ratio and the inclusion of two minifigures, which allowed for immediate competitive play straight out of the box.
