Where it came from
The Banana Guy minifigure was introduced in 2016 as part of the LEGO Minifigures Series 16 collection. Designed to capture the whimsical spirit of costumed characters, the figure features a unique molded banana peel suit that covers the torso and legs, representing a playful trend in the series that favored personality-driven, humorous designs over standard archetypes.
The character was conceptualized by the LEGO design team to expand the variety of 'mascot' style figures, providing builders with a vibrant and unconventional addition to their displays. Upon its release, the figure was well received by the community for its creative use of specialized plastic molding and its comedic appeal, eventually becoming a recognizable icon within the broader LEGO collectible ecosystem.
