Where it came from
Released in 2012 as part of the LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes theme, this set captures a classic confrontation between Batman and his rival, Two-Face. The set was designed to reflect the aesthetic of the DC Super Heroes line at the time, focusing on playability through the inclusion of two vehicles: the Batmobile and Two-Face's armored truck. This release marked a significant entry in the early years of the revived partnership between LEGO and DC Comics, aiming to provide a dynamic playset that featured iconic character minifigures including Batman, Two-Face, a henchman, and two security guards.
The design of the Batmobile in this set draws stylistic inspiration from the long-standing comic book iterations of the vehicle, emphasizing its aggressive profile and iconic black color scheme. Two-Face’s vehicle was specifically engineered with an opening vault and modular play features to mimic the villain's penchant for chaos and heist scenarios. Upon its arrival, the set was well-regarded by collectors for its variety of minifigures and the inclusion of the bank vault build, which provided a comprehensive scene for display and creative play within the broader DC universe construction range.
