Where it came from
Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Creator postcard series, this set was designed to capture the architectural essence of Beijing within a compact, two-dimensional format. The set reflects a broader shift in the brand’s strategy to offer display-focused models for adult collectors, emphasizing artistic representation through micro-scale building techniques rather than traditional play features.
The design utilizes layered construction to create a sense of depth, featuring iconic landmarks such as the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City. By blending these monumental structures into a unified aesthetic, the set seeks to evoke the experience of a travel memento. It was received as a thoughtfully stylized tribute to Chinese heritage, noted for its efficient use of parts to convey recognizable silhouettes at a miniature scale.
