Where it came from
Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes theme, this life-sized bust of the Black Panther was designed to celebrate the legacy of the character following the cinematic portrayals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Standing over 18 inches tall, the model was specifically created as a high-end display piece intended for adult collectors, emphasizing intricate detail and authentic aesthetic representation rather than traditional playability.
The set was designed to capture the iconic salute pose of T'Challa, incorporating removable hands and a commemorative base. While the set was praised for its imposing presence and the technical achievement of its build structure, it faced a mixed reception from the enthusiast community. Many collectors noted the ambitious scale and display quality, though the stylized design of the mask and the high price point relative to the part count generated significant discussion among long-term LEGO fans.
