Where it came from
The pilot issue of Blocks magazine was released in 2014, marking the arrival of the first independent publication dedicated to the LEGO hobby. It was created to fill a perceived gap in the market for high-quality, long-form content that catered specifically to the growing community of adult fans of LEGO, providing a platform for news, reviews, and creative spotlights that traditional LEGO-produced media did not cover.
The publication was designed with a clean, editorial aesthetic that prioritized professional photography and in-depth analytical writing over the standard catalog-style formatting common in the industry at the time. It received a warm welcome from the enthusiast community for its commitment to documenting the culture and artistry surrounding the brick, effectively establishing itself as a respected, recurring resource for collectors worldwide.
