Where it came from
Boarding the Tantive IV (75387) was released in 2024 as part of the LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary collection. Designed to commemorate the iconic opening sequence of the 1977 film A New Hope, the set recreates the corridor where Darth Vader and his stormtroopers board the rebel consular ship. The design utilizes a modular building style that allows for expansion, reflecting LEGO's long-standing focus on building out classic cinematic dioramas for adult collectors.
The set was developed to provide an interactive, play-focused display piece, featuring lever-activated mechanisms that allow builders to knock over the doorway and 'blast' characters across the floor. By including a special 25th-anniversary commemorative minifigure—ARC Trooper Fives—the design team aimed to balance film-accurate scene recreation with the broader appeal of collecting rare historical character variants within the Star Wars theme.
