Where it came from
The Books Are My Passion set, released in 2024 as part of the LEGO Ideas theme, originated from a fan-submitted design by LEGO enthusiast Fr_An. The concept was selected through a competitive platform that invites fans to submit original builds, which are then evaluated for their creative merit and potential for mass production. The design captures a miniature study environment, featuring a buildable stack of books and a desk setup that celebrates a love for literature.
The aesthetic of the set focuses on a compact, cozy interpretation of a reader’s nook, emphasizing intricate detailing within a small physical footprint. By utilizing a color palette evocative of classic library settings, the design aims to resonate with collectors who value intellectual hobbies. Upon its release, the set was received as a charming addition to the Ideas line, appreciated for its simplicity and the tactile satisfaction it offers to adult fans of LEGO.
