Bookshop

The Lego Creator Expert Bookshop, released in early 2020, stands as the fifteenth entry in the long-running Modular Buildings collection. Designed by Lego designer Wes Talbot, the set was conceived as a modular structure that could be split into two distinct buildings, offering a more flexible building experience compared to the single-structure designs common in the earlier years of the series. The aesthetic draws inspiration from European townhouses, utilizing a vibrant autumn color palette and intricate architectural details like a bay window, a balcony, and a birch tree to evoke a cozy, domestic atmosphere.

Upon its release, the set was met with positive reception from the adult collector community, who appreciated the architectural nods to London and Amsterdam. The design was praised for its clever use of parts to create textures, such as the curved staircase and the modular approach that allows for different neighborhood layouts. It serves as a representative example of the evolution of the Creator Expert line, moving toward more complex structural narratives and sophisticated color stories that cater to hobbyists looking for display-quality architecture.
