Where it came from
The 2019 Brick Friday promotional brick was released by the LEGO Group as a limited-edition gift with purchase during the annual Black Friday sales event. Distributed at official LEGO brand stores and through the online storefront, this collectible served as a tactile piece of company branding intended to reward loyal customers during the busiest shopping period of the retail year. It reflects the company’s long-standing tradition of producing exclusive, small-scale items designed specifically for the adult collector market.
The design of this promotional piece is minimalist, featuring the text 'Brick Friday 2019' printed on a standard 2x4 LEGO brick. Its aesthetic was intentionally understated, prioritizing a sleek, commemorative appearance that highlights the year of issue over elaborate illustration or complex construction. The item was received primarily by fans of the brand as a subtle, sought-after curiosity, serving as a functional piece of memorabilia that marks a specific moment in the brand's retail history.
