Where it came from
The BRICK KICKS Spring 1991 set, identified by catalog number BK15SPR1991-1, emerged during a period when niche hobbyist collectibles began shifting toward specialized, serialized packaging. Produced in the spring of 1991, this set was designed to capture the aesthetic sensibilities of the early nineties, characterized by bold geometric patterns and a transition toward more tactile, artisanal material choices in consumer goods.
The design of this series is often attributed to the internal creative teams working under the Brick Kicks brand identity, who sought to bridge the gap between traditional craft and contemporary design trends of the era. Upon its release, the set was noted by collectors for its departure from more mass-market industrial standards, establishing a reputation for intentionality and moderate scarcity that helped define its long-term place in the secondary collection market.
